The Peace of True Liberation

If you do not experience it directly, but simply cling to intellectual understanding, you will never achieve the peace of true liberation. You must let go of all ideas and notions about reality and spiritual practice, abandon
all views of religion, awakening, void, mind, and the rest. As long as you continue to grasp conceptual understanding, you will remain in a tangle of views about self and other.

Remember, even if you memorized all the teachings of all the sages in the ten times, and even if you understood every single doctrine of every single tradition, if you do not experience it directly you will never be truly free.

  1. Howdy Pete,

Might as well try it–at least the money might go to some worthy cause. Rather than spending it on “retreat mansions” with golf courses and medium sized cathedrals, we could get it to casinos, brothels, health insurance companies and other institutions struggling in these difficult times…Bells, whistles, robes, candles, pageantry, strange chants, and magical incantations are okay, as long as we don’t have to shave our heads.

  2. Hello Ted

Can’t give it away, there being few takers,
    Ya might have noticed.

Hey! Pardner, I have an idea:
How’s about we dress it up?
Bells, whistles, robes, candles and so on.
    Maybe pageantry? Strange chants?
    Then we could sell it!

When I used to sell Snake Oil
    Folks didn’t realize
Only oil in a snake is in the venom!

    See ya at the bank
