Easy to understand, difficult to do

The truth of awakening is simple and straightforward, however, it is not easy. All of the great sages serve as models of perseverance and determination. There are no secret formulas or esoteric doctrines; just cease conceptualization and observe your own inherent awareness. Put your mind at ease and clarify the essence. It is easy to understand, but difficult to do. However, if you persevere, arousing your determination, your mind and your environment will begin to unify into a single wholeness. Do not let up, but continue to step back from your habitual discriminations, and suddenly the vast, unnamable void stands forth as your own mind.
